Mrs. Margaret Leung Kicks Off the Global Leader Series


On 15 June, the CUHK Business School will present the inaugural talk for the Global Leader Series. It is our honour to invite Mrs. Margaret Leung, Former Vice-Chairman and Chief Executive of Hang Seng Bank, to be our first speaker for the series. Mrs. Leung will give a talk titled 'The Road to Success for Influential Female Leaders in Hong Kong: Obstacles and Opportunities', which discusses the secrets of a successful businesswoman in Hong Kong's finance industry. Seats are limited, and enrolment is on a first-come, first-served basis. Book online before 1 June to reserve a seat.

EMBA (Chinese) Program – Information Session

The Executive Master of Business Administration (Chinese) Program aims to provide top-quality business education for the growing number of Chinese-speaking senior managers and executives. Taught in Putonghua, the program also focuses on enhancing problem-solving skills to better face the challenges and opportunities of the rapidly changing business environment in Greater China. The two-year program is conducted in both Shenzhen and Hong Kong, and is accompanied by lectures, seminars, and company visits, which combine theory and practice. Information sessions will be held in Beijing, Shenzhen and Guangzhou in early June, so register here to learn more.

PACC Students Win the Championship in the Hong Kong Final of the ACCA Job Hunting Competition 2012


On 14 April, Mr. Harry Yung and Mr. Herman Mok, who are enrolled in the BBA's Professional Accountancy Program, took part in the Hong Kong Final of the ACCA Job Hunting Competition 2012. With the aim of equipping Accounting and Finance undergraduate students with skills for the business world, the competition is designed to simulate a real executive recruitment process in a business environment. Participants are trained in communications skills, interpersonal skills, interviewing and presentation techniques. Our two award-winning students are preparing for the China Grand Final in July to compete in the National Grand Championship.

CUHK Ranked No. 1 in the 'QS Top 50 Under 50' and No. 5 in the 'QS Asian University Rankings'

In the latest QS Intelligence Unit rankings, The Chinese University of Hong Kong made remarkable results in two significant rankings that were just released. The CUHK was ranked No. 1 on the QS global index of the world’s best young universities founded within the past 50 years, and No. 5 on the ‘QS Asian University Rankings 2012’. Published for the first time, the ‘QS Top 50 Under 50’ ranks universities established since 1962 according to their position in the 2011 QS World University Rankings. The CUHK’s achievements are testament to the hard work and dedication of its outstanding faculties, staff and students.

The Second BiG Forum Concludes with Big Success


Following the inaugural BiG forum held in Shenzhen in March, the Center BiG led by its Executive Director Prof. Robert Lee successfully ran the second BiG forum titled 'Proactive Innovation Targeting Key Trends' in the Hong Kong campus on 12 May. This forum was simultaneously broadcast live to an audience at the CUHK Shenzhen Research Institute Lecture Theatre, allowing participants to see and hear the event in real time. The BiG forum in Hong Kong has provided another opportunity for the academic and business communities to be inspired to work towards business innovation for the future.

CUHK MBA CSR Conference Calls for a Shift to a More Sustainable World

On 10 May, the 6th Annual CUHK MBA CSR Conference titled 'Shifting Today to a Sustainable Tomorrow' was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The event was attended by students from CUHK, HKUST, Cambridge, Georgia State University, as well as corporate leaders from various sectors in Asia. The conference was a great success, and brought academics, business leaders and CSR professionals together to understand how to overcome the challenges of today. The event featured interviews, talks from senior executives in the private and public sectors, as well as CSR seminars and workshops.
