Memory-filled 50th Anniversary Photo Campaign
Reaches Conclusion on 20 October
The photo collection campaign 'Those Were the Days at CUHK Business School' concludes on 20 October 2013, with the most memorable entries soon to be announced and many fabulous prizes distributed. This golden jubilee campaign has gathered meaningful photos from alumni and friends, capturing fond memories since our inception in 1963. Open to alumni and the general public, it invites all photo submissions relating to the Business School, along with a brief description under 50 words. Upload them to the event website or Facebook page.

Business School Alumni Database Ready for Your Activation


After consolidating personal information the past few months, the Alumni and Corporate Affairs Office is now equipped with a more comprehensive alumni database comprising 26,000 international alumni contacts. Whether you have previously registered or are a first-time user, alumni are required to activate their account in order to connect with fellow alumni and friends and enjoy the many benefits available on the Alumni Website. For details, please refer to the activation link sent in our 16 and 17 September email announcements. A souvenir will be given to each alumnus who successfully activates his/her account. Act now!

High-profile Global Leader Series Economic Forum
Only a few days remain before registration closes for the Global Leader Series Economic Forum, the largest in the year's series, to be held on 16 October in celebration of CUHK and the Business School's 50th Anniversary. The high-profile forum, titled 'The Rise of the Asian Century', will feature four world-renowned economists –– Liu Mingkang, Robert C. Merton, Lawrence J. Lau and Fred Hu. Each will present his views on the challenges and opportunities of Asia's economic and financial development. Alumni Encouraged to Send Congratulatory Message
for CUHK's 50th Anniversary

There is still time to show your solidarity with the alumni community by contributing to an advertisement celebrating CUHK's 50th Anniversary. Plans are taking shape to place a congratulatory message in a couple of Chinese newspapers on 17 October, the University's Foundation Day. By bank transfer, cheque, credit card or cash, you can easily donate HK$100 in the name of an alumnus or HK$200 in the name of an association. Simply complete this advertisement form before 30 September.

Treasury Market Management Masterclass Program
Set for November Debut

A first-of-its-kind Treasury Market Management Masterclass Program will debut this November. Developed by the Asia-Pacific Institute of Business and the Treasury Markets Association, the new program represents the capstone of the TMA Professional Qualification Framework and is specifically designed for senior treasury market executives. The objective is for professionals to hone relevant analytical skills and strategic thinking and prepare them for future opportunities.

MBA Programs Students and Staff
Enjoy Rousing Pre-term Dinner
On 23 August, new MBA Programs students were joined by staff at a pre-term dinner at the Hyatt Regency Hong Kong, Sha Tin. Prof. Michael Ferguson, Associate Dean (Graduate Studies) and Director of MBA Programs, delivered an engaging welcome address. The evening's highlight came when guest speaker Sir Chung-kong Chow, Chairman of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited, captivated attendees with moving stories drawing on his expert knowledge and rich experiences.

First-year Students Welcomed at Inauguration Ceremony


The new academic year kicked off with an inauguration ceremony for first-year students held on 2 September. The event opened with inspiring remarks by our Dean Prof. T. J. Wong and guest speaker Dr. William Yu, Founder and CEO of World Green Organisation. It concluded with the launch of the Undergraduates' Facebook Page. The freshmen were enthusiastic about this convenient communication platform that more effectively connects students, teachers and faculty members.
