Antony Leung Kam-chung Draws Full House
The much-anticipated Global Leader Series talk by Mr. Antony Leung Kam-chung, former HKSAR Financial Secretary and current Group Chief Executive of Nan Fung Group, proved highly successful on 15 May. In his talk ‘Thoughts on Hong Kong’s Future Economy and Job Market’, Mr. Leung examined economic, social and political issues, explaining how Hong Kong should leverage China’s growth. An international mix of influential business, academic and diplomatic leaders attended. Dean Prof. Vernon Hsu noted, “Everyone admires Mr. Leung’s wisdom. Sought for Educational Eco Tour
Underprivileged children should enjoy every opportunity to develop themselves and explore their potential by seeing the world and partaking in diverse activities. Accordingly, the Alumni and Corporate Affairs Office will organise its first charity event this year: 'Mustard Seeds' Eco Tour, supported by The Boys' & Girls' Clubs Association of Hong Kong. On 28 June, a Saturday afternoon, alumni are invited to accompany thirty Primary 2 students from Sau Mau Ping in an interesting educational tour across campus to boost appreciation of nature and knowledge about green living. Former Dean Prof. T. J. Wong Named Editor of
Leading Academic Journal: The Accounting Review
Choh-Ming Li Professor of Accountancy Prof. T. J. Wong, Director of the Center for Institutions and Governance and former dean of CUHK Business School, has been appointed an editor of the prestigious The Accounting Review, published by the American Accounting Association (AAA) and one of the top academic journals in business academia. Prof. Wong joins a select group of esteemed international scholars. This major achievement serves as just the latest evidence that the CUHK Business School produces world-class research. The AAA is academia's largest community of accountants.

Worthy Recipients Honoured with
Faculty Outstanding Teaching Awards
The recently announced 2012/13 Faculty Outstanding Teaching Awards recognised four well-deserving instructors: Dr. Anthony Law Man Wai, Mr. Eric Leung Yiu Wing, and Prof. Albert Tsang Hiu Leong, all from Accountancy, and Prof. Wang Cong from Finance. The rigorous selection process included nominations indicating their intellectual contribution, pedagogical innovation, course design, and teaching and learning approaches. Each awardee will be granted a professional allowance of HK$10,000. Prof. Vernon Hsu, Dean of CUHK Business School, observed, "The awards represent the recipients' dedicated efforts. Our heartfelt congratulations to each one!"

Entertaining Annual Gathering in Taiwan for EMBA (Chinese)
The second EMBA (Chinese) annual gathering took place 20 to 22 March in Taipei. Over 80 students and alumni of EMBA (Chinese) participated from the Mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan together with over 40 EMBA (Asia Pacific) alumni. The activity-packed gathering included a welcome dinner, a picturesque hike and an evening sightseeing trip around Taipei to discover Taiwan's history, culture and nature. The last day featured insightful lectures. Prof. Timon Du, Director of EMBA (Chinese), noted, "Many thanks to the Taiwan Alumni Association and its president Paul Su for making this an informative, interesting and memorable event for all."
