Connects Alumni with Underprivileged Kids
On 28 June, more than 70 Business School alumni, underprivileged Primary 2 students from Sau Mau Ping Catholic Primary School and faculty staff toured ecological attractions and green facilities on the CUHK campus in the 'Mustard Seeds' Eco Tour. The outing was co-organised by CUHK Business School's Alumni and Corporate Affairs Office and The Boys' & Girls' Clubs Association of Hong Kong, with support from Zheng Ge Ru Foundation. The Business School and our alumni illustrated their deep commitment to corporate social responsibility, and everyone learned about sustainability and green living. Mediation Workshop to Resolve Workplace Conflict —

Do you encounter workplace conflict and wish to resolve it? Consider attending the next Professional Workshop Series on 9 August titled 'Resolving Workplace Conflict by Mediation'. The workshop features Ms. Beatrice Hung Kit May, a registered psychologist and accredited mediator, who will explain how workplace conflict develops and how to manage workplace challenges using increasingly popular mediation techniques. This innovative workshop appropriately takes places at The Collab, a state-of-the-art training facility in Wanchai. Each attendee will receive a certificate of attendance at the event's conclusion. Help Prepare Meals for the Needy by
Serving as a Kitchen Volunteer
Over 1.3 million people in Hong Kong live in poverty, including one in three elderly and one in four children. The Alumni and Corporate Affairs Office invites you to extend a helping hand on 29 August by serving as a 'Kitchen Volunteer' for Food Angel, a food rescue and food assistance program that produces nutritious hot meals for the underprivileged. We need 20 alumni to help prepare hot-meal boxes by doing anything from food processing to packaging. Take this opportunity to contribute to a worthy cause. Please click here for more details. OneMBA Squid Fishing Night Offers Fun-filled Outing
On 12 July, OneMBA Alumni Board organised a fun-filled seafood-themed gathering that drew over 20 OneMBA alumni, their families and friends. After strolling Sai Kung Market and enjoying a delicious seafood dinner at a neighbourhood restaurant, the group embarked on a leisurely boat trip to fish for squid under a glowing full moon. The spirited and productive evening was just one of several joyful alumni activities steered by the OneMBA Alumni Board. Be on the lookout for additional events soon!

Undergraduates Shine at L'Oreal Brandstorm 2014,
Win First Runner-up
The 'Rockefellers' comprising three undergraduate students of the CUHK Business School — Cazev Fung (Hotel and Tourism Management, Year 3), Yanice Mak (Integrated BBA, Year 3) and Edmond Lam (International Business and Chinese Enterprise, Year 3) — claimed first runner-up at L'Oreal Brandstorm 2014. This year's competition required participants to develop a new product for Kiehl's Men's Collection by analysing a case study, examining the men's cosmetics market, and implementing a communications campaign. The 'Rockefellers' competed with six local teams in the Hong Kong finals held on 8 May at CUHK. Please read here.
Hong Kong Book Fair Site of
GBS Publication Launch
A new publication jointly written by alumni and students of Global Business Studies (GBS) debuted at this year's Hong Kong Book Fair. Titled "The Elites' Diary — Walking the GBS Journey", the 200-plus-page, Chinese-language anthology comprises over 40 articles and marks GBS's 10th anniversary. The writers share their excitement, anxieties and aspirations from their university journey in six highly engaging chapters. All publication proceeds will be donated to UNICEF.

BBA Student Crowned Top Performing Cadet Champion of EYAcademy CSR Challenge 2014
Year-1 Integrated BBA student Divya Verma was crowned the Top Performing Cadet Champion of EYAcademy CSR Challenge 2014. The entrepreneurial competition required participants to suggest a feasible business start-up. Divya impressed the interviewers with her presentation skills and analysis. The competition forms part of a three-year EYAcademy program giving students opportunities to receive mentoring and training from Ernst & Young. By winning the challenge, Divya earned a one-month internship at Ernst & Young. Please read here.
