Entertaining Ocean Park Trip
Unites MBA Students and Alumni
On Sunday, 28 September, over 150 MBA students, alumni and their families joined a fun outing at Ocean Park Hong Kong, which staged its biggest-ever Halloween event. Exploring in groups, participants enjoyed scary haunted houses and saw Asia's first super-sized Doraemon-themed Halloween show at Whiskers Harbour. Some took interesting group photos and uploaded their favourites to the Alumni and Corporate Affairs Office's Facebook page. CUHK Business School Alumni Win 11 of 16 Top Prizes
in HKICPA's Qualification Programme Exams
CUHK Business School alumni took 11 out of 16 top prizes in the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants' (HKICPA) Qualification Programme examinations, held in December 2013 and June 2014. Among the prize winners, 10 graduated from the Professional Accountancy Program (PACC) and one from Integrated BBA Program (IBBA). An award presentation ceremony was held on 20 September at HKICPA's auditorium to celebrate the top performers' achievements. All the CUHK winners cited their time at CUHK as equipping them with the skills to excel. Dean Prof. Vernon Hsu noted that the remarkable outcomes speak volumes for our high hope of developing visionary global business leaders for the Asian Century. Ontario Alumni Network Hosts Second Lunch Gathering
The newly established Ontario Alumni Network held its second networking gathering on 20 September in Toronto, attracting over 30 alumni and their spouses. Most attendees were graduates of the Business School and the Department of Economics. Speakers gave useful and inspiring lectures. Mr. Sunny Lam talked about how and why he started his wine-brewing business last year, and Mr. Mark Wong clearly explained Ontario's federal and provincial small business tax structure for the benefit of all business owners. The group was founded this past June.

Mentors and Mentees Mingle at
MBA Elite Mentorship Program Launch
The annual MBA Elite Mentorship Program kick-off gathering was held on 25 September in the Langham Hong Kong in Tsimshatsui. Organised by the MBA Office, the heart-warming event was attended by over 120 participants, including elite mentors, full-time MBA students and faculty members. Prof. Michael Ferguson, Associate Dean (Graduate Studies) and Director of MBA Programs, led a toast and encouraged the students to learn from the experience and knowledge of our industry-savvy mentors. This year, following a careful matching process, 50 mentors were recruited to serve 72 full-time MBA students.

Prof. Terence Chong Offers Profound Insights
in 'The Alchemy of Life'
On 20 August, Prof. Terence Chong, Executive Director of the Institute of Global Economics and Finance at CUHK, was invited by the BBA Alumni Association to address its alumni in a talk titled 'The Alchemy of Life'. Prof. Chong examined several challenges and opportunities that everyone might encounter: career, courtship, marriage, postgraduate studies, financial management, investment and life goals. Attendees were all impressed by his insightful wisdom and humour. He stressed that meaningfulness comes not merely from success and fortune but from realising what one can do for society to make life happier and more fulfilling.
