Management Forum Proves Successful
The 5th Organizational Capability Management Forum, themed ‘Leadership for Sustainable Success’, was co-hosted by Organizational Capability Learning Association (OCLA) and CUHK Business School on 8 December. Prof. Arthur Yeung, President of OCLA, and Prof. Kalok Chan, Dean of the CUHK Business School, welcomed over 300 delegates including members of OCLA, Business School alumni, faculty members and notable entrepreneurs from various sectors. The highlight was the keynote speech by Prof. Dave Ulrich, the Rensis Likert Professor of Business at the University of Michigan. Equally noteworthy, Prof. Fredrick Ma, former Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of the HKSAR Government, shared his valuable insights on the economic situation globally and in China. First Professional Workshop of the Year
to Examine ‘Scent Marketing’
How can one use scent marketing to create an emotional connection with one’s brand in the consumer’s mind? This question forms the basis of the Alumni and Corporate Affairs Office’s first professional workshop this year. Confirmed for 4 February and themed ‘Scent Marketing – What Does Your Brand Smell Like?’, this two-hour workshop features Mr. Paolo Nalin, Managing Director of Hydroemission, who will share with alumni the concepts and application of ‘Scent Marketing’, involving different levels of scent across various industries. Calling All MBAs: Unique ‘Refugee Run’
at Crossroads Global X-perience
The Alumni and Corporate Affairs Office invites MBA students and alumni to share an unforgettable experience with a special ‘Refugee Run’ designed and operated by the Crossroads Foundation, which simulates the predicaments millions of refugees are facing. The event will take place on Saturday, 28 February at Crossroads Village in Tuen Mun and includes a special slum lunch. Simulations offer a depth of understanding beyond the reach of a speech or discussion. Influential business leaders like Sir Richard Branson (Founder of Virgin Group), Sheryl Sandberg (COO of Facebook), and Jimmy Wales (Co-founder of Wikipedia) have all attended this consciousness-building exercise. OneMBA CUHK Alumni Association Asia
Marks OneMBA Program’s 10th Anniversary
The OneMBA CUHK Alumni Association Asia was formally inaugurated and a gala dinner was held on 13 December at Hyatt Regency Hong Kong, Sha Tin to mark the CUHK OneMBA program’s 10th anniversary. Over 70 guests attended the happy occasion including alumni of OneMBA program, faculty members, and corporate partners. Themed ‘Connecting Global Talents in Asia’, the evening showcased the accomplishments of the CUHK OneMBA program, which connects over 1,000 professional OneMBA alumni around the world. The Alumni and Corporate Affairs Office congratulates the OneMBA CUHK Alumni Association Asia on its establishment and looks forward to working closely with its council members in the years to come.

Financial Times Ranks
CUHK MBA Program 30th in the World
CUHK’s MBA program ranks 30th globally according to the recently released Financial Times Global MBA Ranking 2015 that surveyed 2011 full-time graduating class. In terms of salary percentage increase the CUHK MBA ranks 6th in the world and is also the best-ranked in Hong Kong. Three years after graduation, CUHK MBA graduates’ average salary has reached US$123,035 (HK$959,673) per annum, a sharp increase of 125% over their pre-MBA salaries. The CUHK MBA is also ranked 19th in the world, second in Greater China, and the highest-ranked in Hong Kong in terms of career progress. The findings illustrated again that our MBA program is valuable in enhancing full-time graduates’ employability and career advancement.

Significant Opening Ceremony for Golden Jubilee
Garden of Appreciation and Dinner Reception
In recognition of the benefactors’ unwavering contributions, the Opening Ceremony of the Golden Jubilee Garden of Appreciation and Dinner Reception were held on 6 December. Officiated by Dr. Vincent Cheng, Chairman of CUHK Council, and Prof. Joseph Sung, Vice-Chancellor of CUHK, this meaningful occasion was attended by over 150 major benefactors, friends, alumni, and staff of CUHK. The Golden Jubilee Garden of Appreciation is located between Sir Run Run Shaw and Y C Liang Halls. The dinner featured fabulous programs including a video presentation showcasing the stunning campus and the advancement of the university, plus brilliant performances by talented alumni. Shanghai Christmas Party Unites Alumni
of Three Hong Kong Universities
A marvellous Christmas Party jointly co-organised by CUHK Business School Shanghai Alumni Association, the University of Hong Kong Shanghai Alumni Association, and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Shanghai Alumni Association was held on 14 December to celebrate the festive season with over 100 alumni from Hong Kong and Shanghai. The program featured a splendid lunch buffet with exciting games, a singing performance, and a fundraising charity booth. A lucky draw, which was part of the charitable activity, made available diverse prizes totalling RMB 40,000 in value, including air tickets, tablets, hotel dining coupons, Christmas hampers, cosmetics and skincare products, watches and other gifts.
