‘Global Leader Series’ Hosts
World-renowned Christie’s Chairman
The next event in the ‘Global Leader Series’, a significant lecture series that promotes the sharing and exchange of knowledge between the Business School and the community, will take place on 6 October at the New World Millennium Hong Kong Hotel in Tsimshatsui East. The event will host Mr. François Curiel, Chairman of Christie’s Asia Pacific, who will deliver a speech entitled ‘A View from the Rostrum’. Often described in the press as one of the greatest auctioneers of our time, Mr. Curiel regularly holds the hammer for sales in Europe, Asia and America. Seats are limited. Youth Mentor and Volunteer Winsor Leung:
Finding Fulfilment in a Balanced Life
This month’s ‘Alumni Stories’ features Winsor Leung (BBA 2009). The first ever youth representative in the Hong Kong Red Cross’ Council, Winsor has been an avid volunteer and youth mentor for the society since a young age, and is passionate about serving the community. Winsor worked at EY after graduating, and last year became an administrative officer in the Home Affairs Department ― a step closer to realising his lifelong dream of building a better society. September Workshop Shares Secrets to
Professional Dining Etiquette

In this informative workshop, named ‘The Art of the Business Meal’, attendees will learn professional Western dining etiquette from experienced and certified etiquette consultant Ms. Bernice Lee. The English-language workshop, organised by the Alumni and Corporate Affairs Office, will be held at Whisk in The Mira Hong Kong on Saturday 12 September. Attendees will enjoy a 4-course set lunch and will leave with useful tips that can be applied at formal occasions with ease, grace and comfort. YATA CEO Shares Insights on Management Philosophy
The Hong Kong Economic Times and CUHK Business School are co-organising a business talk, with YATA CEO and alumnus Mr. Daniel Chong as the speaker. With the topic ‘A New Breed of Manager: Management Wisdom from a Blend of Tradition and Innovation’, Mr. Chong will share his insights on management philosophy, and on how he is turning YATA into a successful brand in Hong Kong. The event will be held on the evening of 21 September at Kowloonbay International Trade & Exhibition Centre. Business School alumni and students are eligible for a special rate of HK$170. Alumni Enjoy Inspiring Visit to Shenzhen Campus
On Saturday 12 July, over 40 business alumni gathered at CUHK (Shenzhen) in Longgang District. Following an insightful seminar on Empirical Behavioural Finance by Prof. Yu Jianfeng of the School of Management and Economics (SME), attendees enjoyed an interesting campus tour and casual buffet dinner, at which they were warmly greeted by SME dean Prof. Xiong Wei. CUHK Business School Announces Staff
for 2015-16 Academic Year
The CUHK Business School has announced its staff lineup for 2015-16 academic year. Notably, Prof. Ching-chyi Lee from the Department of Decision Sciences and Managerial Economics has been appointed Associate Dean (Teaching and Learning). Prof. Lee will promote teaching and learning excellence, supported by a team of administrative staff in the recently established Teaching and Learning Office. He will work closely with the Faculty Executive Committee, which is an advisory body to the Dean, and four newly-appointed Assistant Deans.

CUHK’s 9th CSR Conference a Big Success

On 28 May, the 9th CUHK MBA Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Conference, organised by CUHK Business School MBA students, was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, with over 200 attendees. The event, one of the largest of its kind in Asia, allowed business leaders and CSR practitioners to share business insights, trends, and best practices. The theme for 2015’s successful gathering was ‘CSR Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow’. Please read more here or view the photos here.
