Conference Celebrates the MBA’s 50th Anniversary
To celebrate the MBA’s 50th Anniversary, a variety of activities are lined up throughout the year, including the day-long CUHK Business School Conference on Friday, 9 September, at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong. With the theme ‘China Business in the Global Economy’, this signature event of the year features top-notch speakers and panelists from academia, government and the business community. Hon. Alumni is a Good Sport Throughout His Career
T.K. Yeung (MBA 1993) has enjoyed a diverse career since graduation, but a love of sports has stuck with him through the years. After spending a decade on the beat with the police force, TK began working for the Home Affairs Department, promoting community sports. In 2008, he acted as the Equestrian Events Coordinator during the Beijing Olympic Games and he was recently appointed the first Commissioner for Sports, serving all of Hong Kong. Sports have energized his competitive spirit, letting him endure through life’s challenges. Read more about TK’s inspiring story here.
Workshop Brings Fashion and Career Together

This May, 40 men and women alumni attended a ‘Grooming and Image Styling for Business Executives’ workshop led by Ms. Caroline Sze, Image Consultant and Director of Seasoning. Organised by the Alumni and Corporate Affairs Office, the useful workshop focused on professional image styling as a means of embracing beauty and realising one’s full potential. Over the course of an afternoon, participants learned everything needed to look fashionable and professional in today’s business world, including grooming, accessories, tailoring and shopping tips. Taiwan Annual Dinner Filled with Music, Fun and Laughter

The CUHK Business School Taiwan Alumni Association hosted a memorable annual dinner on Saturday, 30 April. The gathering centred on the theme ‘Be Connected and Share’ and brought together dozens of alumni and friends at a popular restaurant in Taipei. The night began with welcoming remarks from Alumni Association President Dr. Cheng-chiou Chang. Business School Dean Prof. Kalok Chan, who joined the event for the first time, led a song with Alumni and Corporate Affairs Director Ms. Florence Lai, adding a little fun to the evening.

In celebration of the MBA’s 50th Anniversary, the Alumni and Corporate Affairs Office will welcome alumni aboard the beautiful Sun Princess for a day of excitement on Tuesday, 5 July. Attendees will enjoy a ship tour, lunch, and sharing session by Ms. Karin Wan, a BBA alumna and travel guru. Response to this event has been overwhelming and all available places have been reserved. Join Us for the MBA 50th Anniversary Gala Dinner
As a year of celebration draws to a close, we are wrapping things up with a grand finale gala dinner in honor of the MBA’s 50th anniversary. This can’t-miss event takes place Sunday, 4 December, at the Convention Hall of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. CUHK Vice-Chancellor and President Prof. Joseph Sung will serve as the officiating guest. Further details will be announced in due course, so save the date!
Seminar Explores the Roots of Traditional Chinese Medicine
The BBA Alumni Association held a seminar titled “Yellow Emperor Inner Canon” in late April as part of the “Traditional Chinese Scholarship as Today’s Reference Talk Series”. This ancient text has been the bedrock of traditional Chinese medicine for over 2,000 years, teaching generations about diagnosing and treating illness with therapies such as acupuncture. The seminar was led by Dr. Chan Ka Chung, a BBA alumnus with a PhD from Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine.
